We do not use your information for purposes unrelated to those described above without a lawful basis for doing so.

4. Health information

Information about injuries, medical conditions, pregnancy, disabilities or other information concerning your health is special category personal data under UK GDPR and receives additional protection.

We ask you to provide relevant health information during enrolment because it helps us:

  • Determine the most appropriate class or level for you

  • Ensure your teacher is aware of relevant health considerations

  • Adapt exercises or provide appropriate alternatives where necessary

  • Help us provide a safe and appropriate Pilates experience

Health information is treated as confidential and is only accessed by Horsley Pilates personnel who need it to provide appropriate instruction or fulfil our legal or insurance responsibilities.

 

By completing the health section of the enrolment form, you acknowledge that Horsley Pilates will need to collect and use the health information you provide for these purposes. Where consent is used as the legal basis for processing, you may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting info@horsleypilates.com. Withdrawal of consent does not affect processing that has already taken place lawfully.

Horsley Pilates will only process health information where there is an appropriate lawful basis under UK GDPR and an applicable condition for processing special category data.

Your responsibility when exercising

Although we use the health information you provide to help determine appropriate classes and adapt instruction, you remain responsible for listening to your own body and informing your teacher of any changes in your health, injuries, pain or other circumstances that may affect your ability to exercise safely.

Please do not undertake an exercise that causes pain or feels unsafe. If you are unsure whether Pilates is appropriate for you, or if you have a medical condition or significant injury, you should seek advice from an appropriate healthcare professional before participating.

5. How your information is stored and shared

Your personal information is held securely by Horsley Pilates.

We do not share your personal information with external booking, payment or software providers.

We do not sell your personal information or provide it to third parties for marketing purposes.

We may disclose information where we are legally required to do so, or where necessary to protect someone's health or safety or to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.

6. How long we keep your information

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including any applicable legal, insurance, accounting or record-keeping requirements.

We periodically review the information we hold and securely delete or dispose of information when it is no longer required.

Health information will not be retained indefinitely and will be reviewed in accordance with our record-retention requirements.
